Bonders: how many bonds do you usually maintain?
I'm a bit new at playing bonder, so I just wanted to ask the more experienced players how many enchantments they usually maintained?
The reason I'm asking this is because the last time I played, I could maintain and set up about 11 enchantments, including balthazar's spirit on myself, and still be okay out of battle without help from br/bip. A guildie who I was playing with told me that I wasn't doing enough and most people usually manage "more" without giving a specific number. However, I honestly can't really see how someone would do this without using Echo+blessed signet (too finicky on the timing for me). I guess I COULD squeeze another bond or two if I used boon signet, but I haven't actually tried it yet.
So back to my original question: how many enchantments do most bonders here usually maintain?
Edit: I have terrible proofreading skills, just fixing up my grammar. >.<

anywhere from 12 to 15 id say. if you start getting to much larger than 15, keeping them up between battle can be a problem.
but the number of bonds doesnt always determine the quality of the bonder. keeping a lower number of bonds up (say around 9 to 11) and having the energy to cast some higher cost skills between blessed sigs (aegis, PS, ect...) can be beneficial as well.
really, as long as the entire team is bonded, everything else you do is pretty much gravy. just make sure you actually are bringing something to the table.

u CANOT maintain more then 14. 4 pips of NRG regen minus 14 pips of degen, is max degen. i know urr gonna say that degen can go further, however if u bond more then 14 ull get a server message telling u that u are already maintaining the maximum amount of bonds

Rogh daxh is right. GW put a cap on maintained enchants not being able to exceed energy degeneration some time ago.
It was funner before then.

That's too bad.
I maintain 12 or 13 (not even using Balthazar's). So I never got that message (14 max? that's a shame).
One of these days, I'll put Balthazar's back on my skill bar... if I can remember to do so.

I traditionally maintain 12-13 when out of combat, and around 17 when their in combat. (Hooray for the crazy aggro in FoW!) And I had 16 enchants going the other day, and that exceeded the energy degen limit, was it a bug?
But then again i've been bonding for going on 2 years, lol!

Suppose there are some necs to keep BR or BiP constantly on you, would you be able to bond more, or do you mean there's no way of having more then 14 bonds? Never had more then 9 bonds up for a long time, so I've no idea.

I also remember the cap being added some time ago, but to my surprise I was also able to maintain about 17 bonds a few days ago, dunno if it was a bug though

When I bond I usually but 6 bonds on a team of 8 so I won't have to much- degen.

Yeah, If you're just playing a straight bonder in a regular scenario then 6-8 would probably be as much as you would have (or need to have). The only reason I was running 16 some odd bonds in FoW is because the baddies aggro everyone.
And If playing a normal run bonder you could even throw out Mantra of Inscriptions and leave balths. But either way i'm getting off topic

Personally I maintain about 7-9, depending on the situation. Never had to use any more than that, and probraly couldn';t since I don't run Balthazar's Spirit....Signet of Devotion is way more important, since I can maintain my group by myself in most situations with that skill.

Mantra of inscriptions will help you maintain a few more bonds between battles, but you really shouldn't need to be running many more bonds anyway.
Where are you bonding?

Could be running Life Barrier as well as bond. I don't typically like going past 4 degen, unless it's pretty hectic and I am getting alot from balths.
